For Church of England provision see below.
REVISED COMMON LECTIONARY
FIRST READING Jonah 3.1-5, 10
A reading from the book of Jonah.
1 The word of the LORD came to Jonah, saying,
2 'Get up, go to Nineveh, that great city,
and proclaim to it the message that I tell you.'
3 So Jonah set out and went to Nineveh,
according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly
large city, a three days' walk across.
4 Jonah began to go into the city, going
a day's walk. And he cried out, 'Forty days more, and Nineveh
shall be overthrown!'
5 And the people of Nineveh believed God;
they proclaimed a fast, and everyone, great and small, put on
sackcloth.
10 When God saw what they did, how they
turned from their evil ways, God changed his mind about the calamity
that he had said he would bring upon them; and he did not do it.
PSALM Psalm 62.6-14
R R God alone is my rock and my salvation.
6 For God alone my soul in silence waits; truly, my hope
is in him.
7 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my stronghold, so that I shall not be shaken. R R
8 In God is my safety and my honour; God
is my strong rock and my refuge.
9 Put your trust in him always, O people,
pour out your hearts before him, for God is our refuge. R R
10 Those of high degree are but a fleeting
breath, even those of low estate cannot be trusted.
11 On the scales they are lighter than
a breath, all of them together.
12 Put no trust in extortion; in robbery
take no empty pride; though wealth increase, set not your heart
upon it. R R
13 God has spoken once, twice have I heard
it, that power belongs to God.
14 Steadfast love is yours, O Lord, for
you repay everyone according to his deeds. R R
SECOND READING 1 Corinthians 7.29-31
A reading from the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians.
29 Brothers and sisters, the appointed
time has grown short; from now on, let even those who have wives
be as though they had none,
30 and those who mourn as though they were
not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing,
and those who buy as though they had no possessions,
31 and those who deal with the world as
though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this
world is passing away.
GOSPEL Mark 1.14-20
Hear the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Mark.
14 After John was arrested, Jesus came
to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God,
15 and saying, 'The time is fulfilled,
and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the
good news.'
16 As Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee,
he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake
- for they were fishermen.
17 And Jesus said to them, 'Follow me and
I will make you fish for people.'
18 And immediately they left their nets
and followed him.
19 As he went a little farther, he saw
James son of Zebedee and his brother John, who were in their boat
mending the nets.
20 Immediately he called them; and they
left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, and
followed him.

CHURCH OF ENGLAND
FIRST READING Genesis 14.17-20
A reading from the book of Genesis.
17 After Abram's return from the defeat
of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom
went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's
Valley).
18 And King Melchizedek of Salem brought
out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High.
19 He blessed him and said, 'Blessed be
Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth;
20 and blessed be God Most High, who has
delivered your enemies into your hand!' And Abram gave him one-tenth
of everything.
PSALM Psalm 128
R R Whoever fears the Lord shall indeed be blessed.
1 Happy are they all who fear the Lord, and who follow
in his ways!
2 You shall eat the fruit of your labour;
happiness and prosperity shall be yours. R R
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
within your house, your children like olive shoots round about
your table.
4 Whoever fears the Lord shall thus indeed
be blessed. R R
5 The Lord bless you from Zion, and may
you see the prosperity of Jersualem all the days of our life.
6 May you live to see your children's children;
may peace be upon Israel. R R
SECOND READING Revelation 19.6-10
A reading from the book of Revelation.
6 I heard what seemed to be the voice of
a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the
sound of mighty thunder-peals, crying out, 'Hallelujah! For the
Lord our God the Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him
the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride
has made herself ready;
8 to her it has been granted to be clothed
with fine linen, bright and pure' - for the fine linen is the
righteous deeds of the saints.
9 And the angel said to me, 'Write this:
Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the
Lamb.' And he said to me, 'These are true words of God.'
10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship
him, but he said to me, 'You must not do that! I am a fellow-servant
with you and your comrades who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship
God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.'
GOSPEL John 2.1-11
Hear the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John.
1 There was a wedding in Cana of Galilee,
and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 Jesus and his disciples had also been
invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine gave out, the mother of
Jesus said to him, 'They have no wine.'
4 And Jesus said to her, 'Woman, what concern
is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come.'
5 His mother said to the servants, 'Do
whatever he tells you.'
6 Now standing there were six stone water-jars
for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty
gallons.
7 Jesus said to them, 'Fill the jars with
water.' And they filled them up to the brim.
8 He said to them, 'Now draw some out,
and take it to the chief steward.' So they took it.
9 When the steward tasted the water that
had become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the
servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward called the
bridegroom and said to him,
10 'Everyone serves the good wine first,
and then the inferior wine after the guests have become drunk.
But you have kept the good wine until now.'
11 Jesus did this, the first of his signs,
in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples
believed in him.
